Night marriages were prevalent during Mughal period. Hindus used to wed their daughters at night time for safety against Muslims who use to force Hindu girls to marry. But now there is no such need hence night marriages are irrelevant. Most of the other religions do day marriages like Christian, Sikhs and Muslims. Also night marriages are not environmental friendly as they cause lot of pollution. The impact of excess consumerism on earth’s limited resources are now visible with the warmer climates being observed over the world. So we need to control energy consumption.

• Economical -- the money so saved can be used for better Uses / charity
• Simple marriage is environment friendly.
• Simple marriage leads to a better society and good example for those who borrow money to arrange wedding of their daughters.
How to do simple marriages
• Consolidate on list of attendees -- restrict to maximum 50.
• Call only nearby and blood relatives.
• Plan for only day time marriage.
• Do not block main roads and do all dancing in wedding premises.
• Restrict no of marriage events to one and main wedding. No engagement ceremony and no separate reception post marriage.
• No reception party after marriage - just send the couple for Honeymoon as per ones budget.
• No alcohol and meat during wedding lunch.
• Lunch menu to be restricted and not hundreds of varieties leading to wastage of food.
• Use canned/fresh fruit juices in place of cold and multi colored beverages (which have additive and Poison).
• No expensive tents/designers tents to be used. Try to book indoor small hall to accommodate 50 guests.
• Help of astrology should be avoided.
• Marriages should be certified from court either same day or within next 2/3 days as recent directives of Govt.
